David Vernon Lovely, 19 years old at the time, disappeared on August 5, 1985, while traveling cross-country with his family from California to Massachusetts. Riding a 1978 Yamaha motorcycle, Lovely had been separated from his family in Wyoming after deciding to continue riding ahead while they stopped in Evanston.
