David Vernon Lovely, 19 years old at the time, disappeared on August 5, 1985, while traveling cross-country with his family from California to Massachusetts. Riding a 1978 Yamaha motorcycle, Lovely had been separated from his family in Wyoming after deciding to continue riding ahead while they stopped in Evanston. He later called his aunt from Fort Bridger, Wyoming, reporting that his motorcycle had broken down but had been repaired by a "rough-looking" man at a truck stop. Lovely expr ...
