Tara Suzette Breckenridge, age 23, was last seen in the early hours of August 4, 1992, in Houston, Texas. She had just finished her shift as a waitress at The Men's Club, an adult nightclub on Sage Road. Despite it being a quiet night, Tara volunteered to leave early, which was reportedly unusual for her. A security guard escorted her to her red 1986 Pontiac Fiero, and she drove off without any issues. However, she never made it back to her apartment, and her car was later found abandoned and locked on the West Loop North Freeway, only three miles from the club. The car showed no signs of a struggle, though the alternator belt was missing, and her can of mace was still inside.

Tara's live-in boyfriend, Wayne Hecker, became a person of interest in the case due to their strained relationship and conflicting details about his whereabouts on the night she disappeared. Witnesses at the pool hall where Hecker claimed to be during the critical hours suggested he left the establishment around the same time Tara went missing, but he was never charged.

Foul play is strongly suspected in Tara's disappearance, though her case remains unsolved. At the time, there were several other disappearances of young women in the Houston area, but it is unclear if Tara's case is connected to any of them. Tara, who had moved to Houston from Del Rio to pursue a career in photography, has not been seen since that night.
