Kristi Suzanne Krebs, 22, disappeared on August 9, 1993, from Fort Bragg, California. After finishing her shift at Round Table Pizza, she was supposed to return to her family’s home but never arrived. The following day, her red Toyota Tercel was found abandoned in MacKerricher State Park, stuck in a shallow creek. Inside the car were her wallet, driver's license, and undergarments, but there was no sign of Kristi.
The car’s stereo was missing, and her work clothes were found wet and folded in the back seat. Small traces of blood were also found inside the car.
Kristi had a history of mental health struggles and had previously experienced a similar incident in 1990, when her car became stuck, leading to a psychotic breakdown. At the time of her disappearance, she was under medical treatment and had been working two jobs, which may have contributed to her emotional state.
There were several unconfirmed sightings of a woman resembling Kristi hitchhiking in various locations, including Utah and California, but none of these have been verified. Authorities consider the possibility that Kristi may have experienced a disoriented mental state when she disappeared. Despite ongoing efforts, Kristi remains missing, and her case is classified as endangered.
