Oliver Monroe Smith, an 81-year-old retired U.S. Army Colonel, was last seen on April 10, 1996, at his home in Columbus, Georgia. Smith informed his wife that he was heading to their backyard in the Oakland Park area to plant zinnias and would return shortly. However, he never came back. His wallet was left on the kitchen table, and despite a thorough search, he has not been seen or heard from since.
