Anthony Urciuoli Jr., a 31-year-old resident of Poughkeepsie, New York, was last seen on the night of January 24, 2001. That evening, he returned home from his job as a server at the Dutchess Diner around 9 PM, earlier than usual. At approximately 11:30 PM, Urciuoli received a page from an unidentified individual, after which he informed his parents that he was going to play pool with a friend.
He left his home near the Galleria Mall but never returned, and no one saw him at any local pool hall that night.
Two days later, on January 26, Urciuoli’s gray 2000 Nissan Maxima was found abandoned in a parking lot at Spratt Park in Poughkeepsie. His wallet was still inside the locked vehicle, but there were no signs of a struggle. Investigators believe he may have left the car willingly, possibly getting into another vehicle. Despite searches and inquiries, authorities were unable to trace the page he received that night, and no significant leads have emerged. His family has expressed disbelief that Urciuoli, described as a responsible and reliable individual, would disappear on his own.
The case remains unsolved, with authorities unable to determine whether foul play was involved or if Urciuoli left voluntarily. His family, however, has strongly suggested that violence or foul play may be a factor, citing his anticipation for an upcoming trip to Las Vegas, which they planned to take together shortly after his disappearance.
