In the small city of McMinnville, Tennessee, a young woman's disappearance has left a void in her family and community for over two decades. Ramona Mae Priest, a 19-year-old female, vanished on February 6, 2001. She was last seen leaving the city jail, located in the vicinity of the 100 block of Security Circle. At the time of her disappearance, she was a young mother to an infant child, whom she left behind along with all of her personal belongings. Her sudden and complete silence was out of character, as she was known to stay in touch with her family. Ramona, also known by her nickname Mona, had distinct physical features. She stood at 5'3" and weighed around 125 pounds. Her natural hair color was blonde, but at the time she went missing, it was dyed black and burgundy. She had blue eyes and wore glasses with small wire frames. Identifying marks included a scar on her right knee, a small scar in her right eyebrow, and a red birthmark on the back of her neck at her hairline. Additionally, she had a tattoo on her right wrist of a "Bad Boy" face in light blue and green ink, with the initials "J.G." written in black above it. The circumstances surrounding Ramona's disappearance are troubling and have led investigators to suspect foul play. Prior to her disappearance, it was reported that she had received threats from unidentified individuals. This detail, combined with the fact that she left her infant child and all her possessions, has fueled the belief that she did not leave of her own accord. Though some reports initially suggested she may have been pregnant at the time, these have been confirmed to be untrue. Over the years, law enforcement has received tips, including one that led to the draining of a pond off Viola Road, but these efforts have not yet led to a breakthrough in the case. The investigation into Ramona Priest's disappearance remains open. Her family has endured years of uncertainty, holding onto hope for answers. The McMinnville Police Department continues to seek information from the public that might shed light on what happened to Ramona after she walked away from the city jail on that February day. The case is a stark reminder of the lasting pain and unanswered questions that haunt the loved ones of the missing. It represents a long and frustrating search for a daughter, a mother, and a young woman who seemingly vanished without a trace.
