A mother of four, Brandee was married to her husband, William, with whom she co-owned and operated The Iron Skillet Restaurant. That Valentine's Day evening, her husband returned to a dark and locked house. Initially, he wasn't overcome with worry, as Brandee had a history of leaving for brief periods. However, as days stretched into weeks with no word from her, a growing concern prompted her family to report her missing in early March 2003. Brandee was described as a woman who was loved and fun to be around, but she also faced personal struggles, including bipolar disorder and a history of substance abuse. The investigation into Brandee's disappearance, led by the Sumner County Sheriff's Office, explored various leads but struggled to gain traction. A significant piece of information came from a friend who reported seeing Brandee leaving the couple's restaurant on the night she vanished. According to the friend, Brandee got into a champagne-colored vehicle with tinted windows, driven by an unidentified man. Investigators were able to locate the driver, who claimed he had dropped Brandee off at a motel on Dickerson Road in Nashville. Despite this lead, extensive searches of area motels yielded no trace of her, and she has not been seen or heard from since. The delay in reporting her missing was a challenge for investigators, hindering the crucial early stages of the search. Over two decades have passed, yet the case of Brandee Thomerson remains an unsolved and painful chapter for her loved ones and the Portland community. Despite the passage of time, her case is still classified as an endangered missing person, and investigators hold out hope that someone holds the key to her whereabouts.
