Tomiene Mary Jones, a 19-year-old mother from Mullica Hill, New Jersey, was last seen on April 18, 2002. She was reported missing when she failed to pick up her two-year-old daughter, Janiyah, from the babysitter. Her brother went to check on her and found the door to her Mullica West apartment open, with her personal belongings, including her keys and purse, left behind. Her car was still parked at the residence, but Tomiene had disappeared after a phone call around 1:00 a.m. that day.
