Danielle Marie Nuttall, a 31-year-old woman, vanished from Trenton, New Jersey, under unsettling circumstances in September 2008. On the evening of September 6, after finishing her shift as a waitress at the Sticky Wicket restaurant, a coworker dropped her off at her third-floor apartment in the 200 block of Hamilton Avenue. Sometime after arriving home, for reasons that remain unclear, Danielle took a taxi to the Walter Rand Transportation Center in Camden, New Jersey, a city known for its
high crime rate. The cab driver later reported that she did not have enough money for a return trip to Trenton. This was the last confirmed sighting of Danielle. She was officially reported missing by her family on September 22, after she failed to show up for work and missed multiple shifts.
At the time of her disappearance, Danielle was described as a white female with brown, shoulder-length wavy hair and blue eyes, standing at approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing around 180 pounds. She had several distinctive tattoos: the name 'Danielle' on her right shoulder, the name 'George' accompanied by a dolphin on her back, and the name 'Mikey' or 'Mike' with a heart on her left ankle. Both of her ears were pierced twice. Danielle had a history of depression and heroin addiction but had reportedly been clean for about 15 months prior to her disappearance. She was also said to be experiencing significant emotional stress due to issues with her roommate and an allegedly abusive boyfriend who was incarcerated at the time. She was also anxious about an upcoming court date, mistakenly believing she might be jailed.
The investigation into Danielle's disappearance uncovered disturbing evidence. Authorities found what they believed to be blood on the walls and carpet of her apartment. Despite this, her roommate cooperated with the investigation and is not considered a suspect. Since she was last seen, there has been no activity on her credit cards, and her cell phone was turned off about half an hour after her final sighting. She left behind two uncashed paychecks and, significantly, her beloved pit bull, which her family said she cherished like a child. Foul play is suspected in her case, as it was highly uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning, especially to abandon her dog.
