In the early evening of December 7, 2003, 38-year-old Robin Monique Ellis was working her shift as a pizza delivery driver in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Around 5:00 p.m., she left Woodland Village Pizza, located in the vicinity of 63rd and Woodland Avenue, with four orders to deliver. It is believed that she successfully delivered at least one of those orders, but after that, her movements are unknown. She never returned to the pizza shop and has not been seen or heard from since. At the time of her disappearance, Robin was described as a Black female, 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing 115 pounds, with black braided hair and brown eyes. She wore plastic-framed glasses and had several distinguishing marks, including pierced ears, a light-colored birthmark near her temple, possible scars on her feet, and a tattoo of the name "Sylvia" on her arm. Two days after she was last seen, on December 9, 2003, Robin's brown, four-door 1995 Hyundai Elantra was discovered abandoned. The vehicle was found on the side of northbound Interstate 95, about 20 miles from where she was last seen. An investigation of the car yielded no immediate signs of foul play or a struggle. In the months leading up to her disappearance, Robin's home had been burglarized on two separate occasions, though it remains unclear if these events are connected to her case. It has also been suggested that she may have been working as an unlicensed cab driver to supplement her income, leading to a theory that she could have encountered harm through that activity. The disappearance of Robin Ellis has left her family, including her teenage son who resided in Florida, without answers for years. Her loved ones have stated that it was highly uncharacteristic of her to leave without any warning or contact. She was also known to be a frequent caller to a local radio station but has not been in touch since the day she went missing. Despite the passage of time, law enforcement continues to seek information that could shed light on what happened to Robin. The case is a somber reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by those in delivery professions and the enduring pain experienced by families of the missing. The overview of the case reflects a woman who vanished while working, leaving behind a few clues but no definitive explanation for her sudden absence.
