In the spring of 2005, a 45-year-old man named Daniel Patrick DeSimone vanished from the vicinity of Pahoa on the Big Island of Hawaii. Known to his loved ones as Danny, he was a resident of Nanawale Estates in the Puna district. On the morning of his disappearance, he left his home around 10:00 a.m. He was last seen later that afternoon, sometime between 3:00 and 4:00 p.m., in the downtown area of Pahoa.
