Godofredo R. Masangya, a 79-year-old man from Chula Vista, California, went missing on September 14, 2005. Known by his nickname "Fred," Masangya left his home around 4:30 p.m., telling his family he was heading to the bus stop and planned to visit his bank at 3rd and H Streets. However, he never returned, and there has been no activity on his bank accounts since his disappearance. Masangya, who was described as active and alert, frequently used public transportation.
At the time he went missing, he was wearing a white jacket with a Los Angeles Lakers logo, beige or cream-colored pants, white socks, white sandals, and a white canvas hat. He also had a full set of dentures, dark spots on his face, and a surgical scar on his chest. Masangya had diabetes and required medication, adding urgency to the search.
