In the heart of Louisiana, the story of Troy Lee Lambert's disappearance began on what seemed to be an ordinary day. On February 27, 2006, the 44-year-old Alexandria resident informed his family of his intention to go fishing, a familiar pastime for him. He was last seen at his residence at approximately 1:00 p.m. before he headed out for his planned fishing trip. At the time he went missing, he was described as a white male with black hair and brown eyes, standing 5'6" and weighing around 140 pounds. A distinct physical characteristic noted was a crooked right pinky finger. He was believed to be wearing a shirt, blue jeans, white socks, white athletic shoes, and a watch. Later that same day, concern for Troy's welfare grew when he failed to return home. This led to the discovery of his truck and his Bass Tracker Pro Team 165 boat at the Red River in Alexandria. The boat was found floating, but strangely, the motor was off and it contained no fishing equipment. The absence of his fishing gear was a perplexing detail that immediately raised questions about the nature of his disappearance. An intensive search of the river was launched by the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office and state Wildlife and Fisheries agents. The search efforts included dragging the river, scouring the shores, and utilizing sonar equipment, but these measures did not lead to any signs of Troy. The investigation into Troy's disappearance took a complex turn when it was revealed that he was facing legal troubles. In April 2006, just two months after he was last seen, a warrant was issued for his arrest. Authorities believed he had stolen over $500 from a local Super 1 Foods store and had been questioned about the theft prior to his disappearance. This development introduced the theory that Troy may have staged his own disappearance to avoid criminal prosecution. The peculiar scene at the Red River, with the boat devoid of fishing gear, lent some credence to this possibility. Despite this theory, no concrete evidence has ever surfaced to confirm that he intentionally vanished. The case of Troy Lee Lambert remains an unsolved and lingering mystery, leaving his family and the community without answers.
