On a summer afternoon in Glendale, Arizona, a young man named Jose Julian Beltran-Sedano was working on his vehicle in front of his residence on August 12, 2006. Beltran-Sedano, who was 20 years old at the time, was accompanied by his pregnant girlfriend and a friend. It was around noon when their day took a terrifying turn. Four Hispanic males, with their faces obscured by bandannas, approached the group.

The assailants then forced Beltran-Sedano into his own purple 1999 Ford Expedition and drove away from the scene. Later that same day, his vehicle was discovered abandoned in Phoenix, Arizona, at 8900 S. 14th St. The interior of the Ford Expedition had been deliberately set on fire, adding a sinister layer to the already disturbing circumstances of his disappearance.
