It is understood that he left with a friend in his friend's vehicle, embarking on what was believed to be a fishing trip.
Hoffman was described as a white male with blond hair and blue eyes, standing between 5'10' and 6'0' and weighing around 120 to 130 pounds. He had a noticeable four- to six-inch scar on his right abdomen and a tattoo of a dragon outlined in black on the left side of his chest.
The circumstances surrounding Allen's disappearance took a grim turn several months later. In November 1989, the vehicle belonging to his friend was discovered abandoned approximately 25 miles east of Meadview, Arizona. Tragically, the remains of his friend were also found in the same remote area.
