In the summer of 1975, a 14-year-old girl named Tracy Anne King vanished from the area of Littlestown, Pennsylvania. On July 8th of that year, the teenager, who had red hair and blue eyes, was a resident at Hoffman Homes, a children's home in Mount Pleasant Township. Tracy, who stood at 5'3" and weighed around 110 pounds, was living at the home due to some personal problems she was experiencing at the time. That day, she was seen leaving the facility and has not been seen or heard from since. She had distinctive identifiers, including a scar on her right ankle and pockmarks on her temple. The circumstances surrounding Tracy's disappearance contain some conflicting information. The most widely reported account is that she simply left the children's home and never came back. Tracy had a history of running away from the facility on previous occasions but had always returned after a short period. This history led to an initial belief by some that she had run away again. However, her family was not notified that she was missing until a week after she was last seen. There are other reports from old newspaper articles that suggest different scenarios; one claims another teenage girl, Stephanie, disappeared from the home on the same day, while another account suggests Tracy went missing while roller skating with a group of children from the home. It is not publicly known if the other girl was ever located. Despite the passage of many decades, Tracy's case remains unsolved, and her family continues to search for answers. Her relatives do not believe she would have voluntarily stayed away, as she had no money and maintained a close relationship with her sisters. She frequently wrote letters to her family from the home, which were described as being typical for a teenager and gave no indication that anything was seriously wrong. Due to the circumstances and the length of time she has been missing, authorities suspect foul play was involved in her disappearance. The case is classified as a non-family abduction and remains an open investigation with the Pennsylvania State Police. Over the years, age-progressed photos have been released to show what Tracy might look like as she grew older, in the hope that someone might recognize her and provide the information needed to finally bring her home.
