Melanie Dee Flynn, a 24-year-old woman from a prominent Lexington, Kentucky family, disappeared on a winter evening in 1977. On that day, she left her secretarial job at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association around 5:00 p.m. She had plans to attend a doctor's appointment at 5:30 p.m. before heading to her parents' home for dinner, but she never arrived at either destination.
