April Rose Zane, a 17-year-old from Frankfort, Illinois, was last seen on April 18, 1977. She had left her home that day, intending to visit a friend in town, but never arrived. At the time, April had a history of running away, but she had always returned or been located in the Chicago area on previous occasions. Despite her past, her prolonged absence following this day raised concerns, especially as she had been in close contact with her family and typically turned up quickly.
