Deborah Jean Swanson, a 31-year-old special education teacher from Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, was last seen on March 29, 1986. That afternoon, she parked her car in the Third Street parking lot near Tubbs Hill and is believed to have gone for a jog or hike on the popular trail. Her vehicle, found later that day, was locked with her purse and a shopping bag inside, but her car keys were missing. Despite an extensive search of the area, no clues were discovered, and Swanson has not been seen since.
