Charles Jason "CJ" Vosseler, aged 3, and his younger brother, William, were abducted by their non-custodial father, Charles Martin Vosseler, on October 9, 1986, from Rochester, New Hampshire. On that day, Vosseler picked up the boys from their mother, Ruth, under the pretense of taking them on a weekend visit. However, he never returned. Ruth later discovered that Vosseler had methodically planned the abduction, shutting down his business, clearing out their joint bank accounts, and
taking all photographs of the children to prevent identification.
A federal warrant was issued for Vosseler’s arrest in 1987 for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. Investigations revealed that Vosseler had been seen using aliases and was briefly located in Oklahoma in 1987. However, he evaded capture by burning down his house and fleeing before authorities could arrest him. Despite multiple sightings and efforts by the FBI, neither Vosseler nor his sons have been found. The case remains open, and authorities continue to seek any information that could lead to the recovery of CJ and Billy.
