Charles Jason "CJ" Vosseler, aged 3, and his younger brother, William, were abducted by their non-custodial father, Charles Martin Vosseler, on October 9, 1986, from Rochester, New Hampshire. On that day, Vosseler picked up the boys from their mother, Ruth, under the pretense of taking them on a weekend visit. However, he never returned.
