Michael Jefferson Adams, an 18-year-old from Abilene, Texas, was last seen on the night of June 8, 1987. After finishing his shift at M-System Food Store, he drove home and arrived around 11:30 p.m. His stepsister saw him briefly standing next to a dark-colored two-door vehicle parked in front of their home. The car, thought to be an older model Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass, or Toronado, was idling, and Michael appeared to be talking to someone inside.
His stepsister assumed he knew the occupants and went back to bed.
The next morning, Michael was missing. His red Datsun 280ZX was still parked in the driveway, but his bed had not been slept in. His wallet was found inside the house, indicating he had left without taking it. Despite extensive investigations, Michael has not been seen or heard from since that night.
Michael was a recent high school graduate, planning to attend Texas Tech University to study architecture. He was close to his family, making his sudden disappearance all the more troubling. The case has remained unsolved, and despite efforts by law enforcement, no significant leads have emerged.
