Lesa Desiree Cunningham, aged 24, was last seen on July 9, 1987, along with her 6-year-old son, Chris, in Chino, California. Earlier that day, Lesa had visited her brother in Pomona and then went shopping with a friend. After dropping the friend off, Lesa and Chris were supposed to go to a local market in Chino. They lived nearby with Lesa's boyfriend but never returned home and were never heard from again.

Two months later, on September 9, 1987, Lesa's car, a 1987 Toyota Tercel with temporary license plates, was found abandoned in downtown San Diego. The car's stereo and speakers were missing, but there were no signs of a struggle or any fingerprints. Suspiciously, Lesa never picked up her last paycheck or accessed her bank account after her disappearance. She worked as a dental assistant in Pomona.

There has been no trace of Lesa or Chris since that day, and both remain missing under suspicious circumstances. Despite investigations by the Chino Police Department, their case remains unsolved.
