Brenda Joan Allen-Szabo, aged 33, was last seen on October 1, 1983, in San Diego County, California. Brenda had a turbulent life marked by struggles with drug addiction and involvement in crime, leading to multiple incarcerations during the 1970s. Originally from Texas, she traveled frequently between New York and California, adopting various aliases and social security numbers to navigate her troubled circumstances. Over the course of her life, she had four children, all of whom she eventually put up for adoption due to her challenges.

In the early 1980s, Brenda appeared to be trying to turn her life around. She enrolled in community college, studied wildlife and forestry, and began working as a dog groomer. Shortly before her disappearance, she had been incarcerated for violating probation but was released. Brenda informed her family that she intended to travel to Dallas, Texas, to visit them and promised to call in two weeks. However, she never made contact and has not been seen since.

Her case remained unnoticed until June 2005, when one of Brenda’s daughters, who had been searching for her birth mother, reported her missing after coming across an article on unsolved murders. Despite efforts by both the San Diego and San Bernardino County police, Brenda’s whereabouts remain unknown, and her case is still unsolved.
