In the winter of 1990, a 25-year-old woman named Sherri Lynn White vanished, leaving behind a few scattered clues in the vast Alaskan landscape. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Sherri had recently traveled to Alaska, first flying to Anchorage before making her way to the interior city of Fairbanks. She was last seen in Fairbanks on February 14, 1990.
At the time of her disappearance, Sherri was described as a white female with blonde, shoulder-length hair and green eyes, standing at 5'7' and weighing around 130 pounds. She was reportedly wearing blue jeans and a casual shirt.
The circumstances surrounding Sherri's arrival in Fairbanks are somewhat vague. It is known that she had an acquaintance in Valdez, another Alaskan town, but her reasons for being in Fairbanks remain unclear. The investigation into her disappearance took a significant turn in March 1990, about a month after she was last seen. A purse containing her personal effects was discovered under the Cushman Street Bridge in Fairbanks. The contents of the purse were found scattered, a detail that many find indicative of foul play.
Despite the discovery of her belongings, the trail to find Sherri went cold. Few details about her case have been made public over the years, and she has not been seen or heard from since that Valentine's Day in 1990. The Fairbanks Police Department has an active and ongoing investigation into her disappearance. The case of Sherri Lynn White is a haunting one, marked by the sparse information available and the unsettling discovery of her scattered possessions. Her journey from Seattle to the heart of Alaska ended in a mystery that has now spanned over three decades, leaving her family and investigators with unanswered questions about what happened to the young woman with blonde hair and green eyes.Last Seen: Feb 14, 1990
