Lakiesha Trenail Buckner, a 16-year-old from Marshall, Texas, was last seen on the morning of August 13, 1999, at her home on East Fannin Street. She has not been heard from since. Lakiesha, who had a history of running away, was known to associate with adult Hispanic male migrant workers. At the time of her disappearance, it was believed she may have been in the company of one of these men.
Lakiesha was a vulnerable teenager with several medical conditions, including a heart murmur, learning disabilities, and a speech impairment. She also had distinguishing features, such as a large mole above her left eyebrow, a scar on her right leg, and an overbite. On the day she went missing, she had long braided hair extensions.
Although Lakiesha had run away before, she had always returned home, making her prolonged absence particularly concerning. Authorities and her family have been searching for answers for over two decades, but her case remains unsolved. Investigators continue to seek any information that could help bring resolution to this cold case.
