Sandra Mason Gann, 48, was last seen at approximately 5:00 a.m. on January 4, 2004, at her residence near Starke, Florida. Sandra's husband, Dwayne Edward Gann, reported that she left with an unknown person to go to work, but her family found this unusual since she typically drove herself and her personal items—such as her purse, keys, and driver’s license—were discovered on top of her own vehicle parked outside the house.
Later that same day, the mobile home Sandra shared with her husband was destroyed in a fire. The fire was deemed suspicious and potentially connected to her disappearance, though no conclusive evidence was found. Despite extensive searches, no sign of Sandra has been located. Her daughter described Sandra as a responsible person, unlikely to leave without notifying someone, further fueling concerns of foul play.
Dwayne Gann, along with his sister Deborah Sue Starling, who lived next door, were considered persons of interest as they were the last to see Sandra. Dwayne had a history of domestic violence, having been charged with aggravated battery against Sandra in 2003. However, the charges were dropped, and the couple married shortly afterward. Dwayne, who has a lengthy criminal record, remains incarcerated on unrelated charges, but denies involvement in his wife’s disappearance.
