In the spring of 2004, 21-year-old Brian Allen Hatfield was looking forward to a future that included a move from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to Atlanta, Georgia. He was described by his mother as being in a good place in his life and was employed as a manager at a Racetrac gas station on O'Neil Lane. On the morning of May 9, 2004, Hatfield was returning to Baton Rouge after having been in Lafayette. He was giving two friends a ride, dropping them off at different locations. The last confirmed sighting of Brian was after he dropped off the second friend in the 3800 block of Geronimo Street in Baton Rouge. After that, he seemingly vanished, never arriving at his own home. The days following May 9th turned into weeks with no word from Brian. Then, on May 21, a significant development occurred when his white 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier was found abandoned. The car was located in the parking lot of a Chevron gas station on Scenic Highway in Baton Rouge. Adding to the mystery, the license plate had been removed from the vehicle, and there were no immediate signs of a struggle. The discovery of his car without him deepened the concern of his loved ones and investigators. The area where he was last seen, Geronimo Street, was known for being a high-crime area, which has been a point of concern in his case. Further complicating the investigation were signs of activity on his financial accounts after he was last seen. Hatfield's checks and check card were used, suggesting someone else had his belongings. In a separate incident, law enforcement pulled over a vehicle that was using Hatfield's missing license plate. Despite these leads, authorities have not publicly identified the individuals involved or made any arrests in connection with his disappearance. Brian, who was known to be a cross-dresser and was believed to be wearing women's clothing when he disappeared, had distinctive tattoos: a scorpion on his right shoulder and the character "Taz" on his lower left leg. The circumstances surrounding Brian Hatfield's disappearance, including the discovery of his car, the use of his financial cards, and the recovery of his license plate on another vehicle, strongly indicate that he met with foul play. His case remains an unsolved and painful mystery for his family and friends, who are left without answers as to what happened to him after he dropped off a friend on that May morning.
