Jennifer Kesse, a 24-year-old woman, disappeared from her Orlando, Florida, condo on January 24, 2006. The last confirmed contact she had was the night before, when she spoke to her boyfriend and family over the phone. The following morning, she was expected at work but never showed up, prompting concern from her co-workers. When Jennifer’s parents checked her apartment, they found no signs of a struggle.
Her phone, keys, and purse were missing, and it appeared that she had prepared for work as usual, leaving behind damp towels and clothing laid out for the day.
Two days after her disappearance, Jennifer's car, a black 2004 Chevy Malibu, was found abandoned at an apartment complex about a mile from her home. Surveillance footage from the complex captured an unidentified individual parking the car and walking away. Frustratingly, the person's face was obscured in the footage by a fence, preventing investigators from identifying them. Despite analyzing the video, including enhancement attempts by NASA, authorities were only able to determine that the individual was between 5’3” and 5’5” tall, but their gender remains unknown.
In the initial investigation, authorities ruled out Jennifer’s family, friends, and boyfriend as suspects. However, Jennifer had mentioned feeling uneasy around construction workers at her condo complex, who reportedly harassed her. Despite this lead, no concrete evidence linking them to her disappearance was found. Jennifer’s belongings, including her cell phone, purse, and car keys, have never been recovered, and there has been no activity on her bank accounts or credit cards since she went missing.
The Kesse family has actively pursued the case for years, even suing the Orlando Police Department in 2018 to gain access to case files. This led to the discovery of new details, such as signs of a possible struggle on Jennifer’s car, information that had not been previously shared with the family.
