On a December day in 1962, three-year-old William 'Billy' Jones III was playing in the yard of his Vineland, New Jersey home with his younger sister. His mother, who had been watching them from a window, briefly stepped away to check on her other son. When she returned, only her daughter was there, holding a plastic poinsettia.
