Sammy Lloyd Jackson, a 13-year-old boy, disappeared on December 14, 1968, from Monterey, California. He and his friend, 14-year-old Alfred Grimes, were last seen early that morning as they set off to go fishing at Fisherman’s Wharf, a routine activity for the pair. A bus driver recalled seeing them at a bus stop around 4:30 a.m., and they were dropped off near Del Monte Avenue, close to the wharf. That day, neither boy returned home, prompting Alfred's father to search for them and later alert the police when they couldn't be found.
Both boys have been missing ever since, and their disappearance remains a mystery. While it is possible that they may have drowned, no conclusive evidence has been found to determine their fate. The case has perplexed investigators for decades and remains unsolved. Sammy’s family lived in Monterey's 3100 block of Ninole Drive at the time, but despite efforts from local law enforcement, including the Monterey County Sheriff's Office, there have been no significant developments in the case since their disappearance.
