Richard William Griener, a 13-year-old boy from Pekin, Illinois, was last seen on January 17, 1972. That afternoon, Richard left his home to go sledding at a local park, just four blocks away. He was carrying a blue toboggan-style sled and was last seen by his friends at around 5:30 p.m. Despite extensive searches in the surrounding area, Richard disappeared without a trace.
