In the quiet suburb of Berwyn, Illinois, the morning of December 15, 2003, began like any other for the Luu family. Twenty-one-year-old Hiep T. Luu, a recent immigrant from Vietnam, prepared for his shift at an electronics manufacturer in the nearby town of Woodridge.
