Fay Rawley, a 55-year-old wealthy farmer from Summum, Illinois, went missing under mysterious circumstances on November 8, 1953. That evening, he was last seen leaving the apartment of his girlfriend in Macomb, Illinois. Rawley, who had been separated from his wife for eight years, had a reputation as a womanizer and often carried large sums of money. His Cadillac was also missing, and evidence of a struggle, including overturned furniture and his eyeglasses, was found at his home.
