Phillip Wesley Sheridan, a 30-year-old man from Millsboro, Delaware, went missing on August 17, 1973, after setting out for an ocean fishing trip in his 16-foot outboard boat. Sheridan never returned, and his wife reported him missing the following morning. The Coast Guard later found his boat drifting approximately 1.5 miles off Bethany Beach, Delaware.
