Paul Allen Allard, a 14-year-old boy, went missing on August 30, 1976, while visiting relatives in Miami, Florida. Prior to his disappearance, Paul had injured his left hand, which was taped due to the severity of the injury, and he was scheduled to have two of his fingers amputated upon his return home. On the day he disappeared, Paul called his mother, asking to come home to Connecticut. Arrangements were made for an uncle to pick him up, but when his uncle arrived, Paul was gone.
He was last seen walking along Bird Road near 112th Avenue, heading toward a 7-Eleven store, but he never made it there. Authorities believe Paul may have been attempting to hitchhike back to Connecticut, as he had done once before in 1975, but he never reached his destination. Given the circumstances, investigators suspect that Paul may have been abducted while trying to travel home. Despite efforts by both Florida and Connecticut law enforcement, Paul has never been found, and his case remains unsolved.
