Milton Sims, a 26-year-old charter pilot, disappeared on December 16, 1978, under mysterious circumstances while flying a Beechcraft Baron aircraft. Sims worked for Seaback Aviation in Spring, Texas, and had previously flown a passenger from Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) to Huntsville, Texas, the day before his disappearance. On December 16, he was scheduled to fly the same passenger from Huntsville back to Houston, but the plane was hijacked mid-flight.
The plane was later seen performing "touch-and-go" landings in Teague and Rockport, Texas. Two days after the disappearance, the plane was found abandoned in a hangar in Texas City. Investigators discovered a bullet slug in the cabin and bloodstains on one of the passenger seats. Additionally, parts of the plane's interior, including carpeting and several seats, had been removed, and the plane's serial numbers were partially covered with spray paint. Despite extensive investigations, Milton Sims has never been found, and his case remains unsolved.
