Maurice Jefferson, a 16-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, went missing on November 30, 1983. On that day, Maurice left his home to attend basketball practice at Dillard High School but never made it. Witnesses later reported seeing him at Franklin Park, where he was allegedly forced into an Oldsmobile by two unidentified men. Despite these accounts, the abduction has never been confirmed.

Maurice was a promising young student involved in various activities, including junior varsity basketball, the Junior ROTC program, and choir at his local church. He aspired to become a doctor, making his sudden disappearance all the more heartbreaking. His family and the authorities initially believed he had been abducted, as he left behind personal belongings, including his wallet, money, and identification, at his grandmother's home.

Unfortunately, delays in police action—common at the time for missing persons cases—meant that no official search began until three days after Maurice vanished. Despite the involvement of the FBI and private investigators, no substantial leads emerged. Over the years, multiple searches and even a documentary project have failed to provide any answers, and Maurice’s case remains unsolved to this day.

His family continues to seek closure, hoping that new information may someday emerge. Age progression images have been released in the hope that someone might recognize him if he's still alive.
