Constantine George Theoharis, a 52-year-old commercial real estate agent, was last seen on the morning of March 20, 2018, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was seen on a neighbor's surveillance camera heading into the Atlantic Ocean on his paddleboard at approximately 6:30 or 7:30 a.m. behind his home in the 3000 block of North Atlantic Boulevard. Theoharis, an experienced diver and boater, was very familiar with the water. He has not been seen or heard from since.
At the time of his disappearance, Theoharis was facing significant personal and financial challenges. He was due in court on the very day he went missing to address over $549,000 in unpaid child support for his two teenage children. His ex-wife described him as living a "flamboyant and expensive lifestyle" with trips to various destinations while failing to meet his child support obligations since 2014. Family members reported that Theoharis was depressed and stressed due to the child support issue and the responsibility of caring for his elderly parents.
When authorities were alerted to his disappearance, they found that Theoharis had left behind his wallet, cell phone, keys, and passport. However, his fins, mask, and weight belt were missing from his diving bag. The paddleboard he was last seen with, described as a blue Riviera Stressed White All-Arounder model, has never been recovered, nor has any of his diving equipment.
The circumstances of Theoharis's disappearance have led to several theories. His uncle considered the possibility of suicide, while his cousin suggested he might have fled to escape his financial troubles. However, there is no evidence to support either theory. Despite searches, no trace of Theoharis or his belongings has been found. His case remains unsolved, and he is now presumed to have drowned.
