Samuel Todd, a 24-year-old Yale Divinity School student, disappeared in the early hours of January 1, 1984, after attending a series of New Year's Eve parties in Manhattan, New York. Samuel was last seen leaving a party at the Puck Building in Soho to get some air around 1:30 a.m. He left his wallet, coat, and identification at the party and was seen walking near Mulberry and Houston Streets.
Todd never returned, and despite extensive searches by family and friends, no trace of him has been found.
In the weeks following his disappearance, several witnesses reported seeing someone matching Todd's description in the Bowery area, including at a men's shelter where the individual appeared disoriented and hungry. Investigators have speculated that Todd might have suffered amnesia due to a possible head injury, but no definitive leads have emerged to explain his vanishing.
