In May of 1984, 22-year-old Lisa Karen Addington was in Tulsa, Oklahoma, preparing for her wedding, which was just days away. A resident of Dallas, Texas, she was in town for the joyful occasion, with her wedding dress and invitations already sent out. On the evening of May 15, 1984, her friends threw her a bachelorette party at a local nightclub called The Great Escape Club, located at 21st Street and Garnett Road. The night was filled with celebration, but as it drew to a close around midnight, Lisa's friends decided to leave. Lisa, however, chose to stay longer, telling her friends that she would find another ride home. This was the last time her friends would ever see her. When her friends departed, Lisa was seen engaged in conversation with an unidentified man at the bar. He was described as a white male in his mid-twenties, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 160 pounds, with a medium build. He had collar-length brown hair parted in the center and was wearing a green shirt. It is unknown if Lisa left the club with this man or by herself. She never made it home that night and has not been seen or heard from since. At the time she went missing, Lisa was described as being 5'8" and weighing between 125 and 130 pounds, with shoulder-length, wavy brown hair and green eyes. She was wearing a black, red, and blue plaid shirt, black velveteen pants, white knee-high socks, and grey and white tennis shoes. She also had rings on and was carrying a purse. Both of her ears were pierced. The days following Lisa's disappearance were filled with anguish for her family. Her mother noted that while Lisa had left home before, she would always call to let them know she was safe. This time, there was only silence. Authorities were notified, and an investigation into her disappearance began. Police have classified her case as a suspected homicide. Investigators looked into a man named Gary Alan Walker, who was a suspect in several murders in Oklahoma during May of 1984, but they could not find any evidence connecting him to Lisa's case. The man Lisa was last seen speaking with at the club has never been identified. The disappearance of Lisa Addington remains an unsolved mystery, a story of a young woman on the brink of a new life who vanished without a trace, leaving her loved ones with unanswered questions that have haunted them for decades.
