On October 29, 2023, 33-year-old Paul Isaac Holmes left his home in Durham, North Carolina, for a walk at approximately 2:30 in the afternoon. This would be the last time he was definitively seen by those who knew him. Later that day, security footage from a convenience store captured him withdrawing cash from an ATM and reportedly purchasing drugs.
