In June of 1985, a 17-year-old girl named Cynthia Lorie Perry, known to her loved ones as Lori, vanished from Raleigh, North Carolina. At the time, she was a resident of a group home on Faircloth Street, a place she had moved into to seek help for a drug addiction. Cynthia's life had been unsettled for some time; she had been living intermittently in and out of her family's home since she was 14, partly due to a strained relationship with her stepfather.
