In the late winter of 1986, a young man named Patrick Kevin Taylor, known to some as Pat, seemed to vanish without a trace, leaving a mysterious and enduring void in the lives of those he knew. Originally from Bethalto, Illinois, the 27-year-old was last seen in the area of Memphis, Tennessee, and West Memphis, Arkansas. There is some discrepancy in the exact date he was last seen, with some accounts stating February 20, 1986, at a Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital, while official records often list his date of last contact as March 26, 1986. Before his disappearance, Patrick had told people he was thinking about heading to Kansas and Texas to look for work. At the time he went missing, Patrick was described as a Caucasian male, standing approximately 5'10" tall and weighing around 190 pounds, though his weight could fluctuate between 175 and 225 pounds. He had blue eyes and brown hair which he wore at shoulder-length or longer. His family noted that his hair had a tendency to get lighter in the summer and darker during the winter months. Two distinct features were a mustache and a scar near his right eye.
