In the quiet of a late summer morning on August 25, 1993, 80-year-old Edward Fonder, a retired machinist, vanished from his 11-acre property in Springfield Township, Pennsylvania. This property, which he lovingly called his 'Garden of Eden,' was a place where he had cultivated wildflowers and placed statues, finding solace after his retirement.
