Angela Freeman, a 17-year-old from Petal, Mississippi, went missing on September 10, 1993. She was last seen in the early hours of the morning at a Pizza Hut parking lot, where she was reportedly speaking with her ex-boyfriend. Angela was four months pregnant at the time of her disappearance. Later that morning, her silver 1984 Honda Accord was found abandoned near the Old Mahned Bridge over the Leaf River in Perry County.
Blood was found near the car, and DNA testing confirmed it belonged to Angela.
Further evidence suggested foul play. One of Angela's shoes was discovered near the scene, while the other was found past a locked gate in a nearby area. However, her purse and keys were never recovered. Investigators noted that Angela had made several payments recently, including for groceries and a car payment, which made it unlikely that she had left voluntarily. Despite extensive searches of the area, including the river, no trace of Angela was ever found.
Authorities and Angela’s family strongly suspect she was murdered. Her case was initially treated as a potential runaway situation, but as more evidence emerged, it shifted to a criminal investigation. Angela’s family continues to search for answers, though the case remains unsolved.
