Stephanie Shae Henderson, aged 21, went missing from her home in Levelland, Texas, on November 28, 1993. That day, she had an argument with her husband, Ricky Don Henderson, and contacted her grandmother, asking her to come pick her up. However, by the time her grandmother arrived, Stephanie had already vanished. Ricky claimed that she had been picked up by friends from Hobbs, New Mexico, but Stephanie left behind all her personal belongings, including her purse and her only pair of shoes.
Several weeks after her disappearance, Stephanie's grandmother received a suspicious letter, supposedly from Stephanie, postmarked from Lubbock, Texas, stating she was living in Hobbs. This letter raised concerns, and after investigating, police confirmed the DNA on the envelope was from a male, further suggesting foul play.
In March 2021, Ricky Don Henderson was indicted for Stephanie’s murder while serving time for an unrelated offense. Although Stephanie’s body has never been recovered, authorities suspect foul play due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
