On a snowy March 9, 1998, 44-year-old Frank John DiNardi vanished from his home in Cortlandt, New York. At the time of his disappearance, he was battling Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, a progressive and terminal illness that was causing his health to rapidly decline. On the night he went missing, DiNardi left his residence on McGregor Lane wearing only a tan, three-quarter-length bathrobe, a tartan jacket, and mismatched shoes. He stepped out into the snowy weather without a shirt and has not been seen or heard from since. His medical condition made his disappearance especially alarming to those who knew him. Frank DiNardi is described as a white male, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing around 165 pounds at the time he went missing. He had black hair, brown eyes, and a bushy mustache. Distinctive features included a surgical scar on his right cheek, a diamond stud earring he possibly wore in his left ear, and significant dental characteristics, as all of his upper teeth and two of his lower teeth were missing. The shoes he was thought to be wearing were described as one tan sneaker and one brown suede shoe. A military veteran, DiNardi frequently visited the Veterans Hospital in Montrose for medical treatments. Despite the passage of time, the investigation into Frank DiNardi's disappearance has yielded no significant leads regarding his whereabouts. Law enforcement has classified his case as an endangered missing person, and they continue to ask for the public's help for any information that might bring resolution to his family. The circumstances surrounding his departure from home on that winter night remain a mystery.
