In the summer of 1998, a 32-year-old mother named Kimberly Doreen Mullens vanished from her Tulsa, Oklahoma, apartment. A member of the Cherokee Nation, Kimberly, also known as Kim, was last seen on or around July 1, 1998. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as being 5'4" and weighing between 120 and 125 pounds, with shoulder-length brown hair and blue eyes. A distinctive tattoo on her left shoulder read "Lee's Wife." Kimberly was a mother to four children, one of whom was just a newborn, having been born only two weeks prior to her disappearance. The circumstances surrounding Kimberly's disappearance are unsettling. According to her husband's account to law enforcement, he and Kimberly had a heated argument on the night she was last seen, after which he claimed she left him for another man. However, Kimberly's family found this explanation difficult to believe, particularly given her devotion to her children, especially her newborn baby. Their suspicions grew when they learned she had left behind her purse and all of her personal belongings. The family's concern for her well-being in what they described as an abusive marriage ultimately led them to report her missing. The investigation into Kimberly Mullens's disappearance has spanned decades, yet her case remains cold. Foul play is suspected in her disappearance, which is classified as an endangered missing person case. Her husband has been considered a person of interest. Over the years, law enforcement has received information and followed up on various leads, but none have resulted in finding Kimberly or providing definitive answers about what happened to her. DNA from her family members has been submitted and is available for comparison should any unidentified remains be discovered. The official narrative remains that Kimberly was last seen with her husband at their residence. The lack of resolution has left her children, who have actively searched for their mother, and other family members with an enduring sense of loss and a painful absence of closure.
