Robert Firestone, aged 82, went missing on April 25, 2011, from Garberville, California. Firestone, a resident at a local care facility, was last seen by staff at around 7 p.m. in his bed. He was discovered missing the following morning when a caretaker went to check on him. Firestone's disappearance sparked a large-scale search operation involving local law enforcement, volunteers, and search-and-rescue teams, including the use of helicopters.
