Peter Lorang, a 28-year-old Marine Corps veteran, was last seen on July 31, 2001, in Galway, New York. He lived alone in Charlton and ran an auto detailing business. His family reported him missing on August 6, 2001, after failing to hear from him for several days. Upon investigation, Lorang's dog was found at his home without food or water, and his car, a 1994 Chrysler LeBaron convertible, was discovered abandoned in Albany on August 18.
